First part of the accelerated second-year sequence. PERSLANG 11A/12A. The course is designed for students who have previous knowledge of the Persian Language and are interested in learning more about Persian-speaking cultures, history, poetry, social life, literature, and artistic trends. Emphasis will be put on listening, speaking, reading, and writing through communicative activities, enabling the students to perform the various tasks in the target language. This class is designed to complete the Intermediate and second-year requirements in two quarters rather than three quarters, and students must have previous knowledge of the Persian language and culture. Prerequisite: They must have completed the first-year requirements or have exceeded the first-year placement test at Stanford or its equivalent.
