“Negin (a Spirit Summoning)” : published in 2005, Negin potrays the predicament of women in contemporary Iran. It is the saga of a young woman put on trial by those who love her dearly. It is the tale of a society that, with good intentions, pushes its victims to the verge of destruction and then blames them for their suffering.

“Negin” is the fourth play in a series of contemporary Iranian plays directed by Hamid Ehya for the Iranian Studies Program at Stanford University. Previous productions include: ‘Interview’ by Mohammad Rahmanian, ‘The Road’ (co-directed with Sepideh Khosrowjah) by Yourik Karim Masihi, and ‘Sleeping in an Empty Cup’ by Naghmeh Samini.
