Archives Shed Light on Iranian History for Stanford Graduate Student

Alexandria Brown-Hedjazi in the archives

Alexandria Brown-Hedjazi is an Art History PhD student working towards a certificate in Iranian Studies. She spent the summer conducting in depth research on Iran and the Shiraz Arts Festival. As a Silas Palmer Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, she used the extensive archives—including the Zahedi Archive—to further her research on the intersection of politics, aesthetics and new media technologies in 1970’s Iran and to offer a closer look at the Shiraz Arts Festival as "a site of diverse communication."

Read more about her research and her experience working with the archives in "The Art Of Diplomacy: Communication, Heritage And Technology In 1970’s Iran."
