Class of 2026 Spotlight: Dana Adibifar

Dana Adibifar

Dana Adibifar will graduate in the spring of 2026 with a major in international relations and a minor in global studies with a specialization in Iranian studies. At Stanford, she balanced rigorous coursework with hands-on research experiences and internships—including positions at the U.S.-Russia Forum, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the Stanford Long Term Investing Lab.

A regular at Iranian studies events, Adibifar found both intellectual inspiration and meaningful community within the program. As she prepares for her next chapter, she reflects on how studying Iran has deepened her understanding of the forces shaping our world.

Congratulations, Dana!

Learn more about her Stanford journey in the Q&A below.

What was the most meaningful or memorable experience from your time in the Iranian studies minor?

All of my experiences have been memorable, but the events with incredible guest speakers have been especially memorable for me. The Bita Prize and Khademi Lecture are two of my favorite events of the year.

What experiences outside the classroom helped shape your Stanford journey?

  • The Iranian studies and international relations communities
  • Research (U.S.- Russia Forum)
  • Internship/Research (Carnegie Endowment)
  • Research (Stanford Long Term Investing Lab)

As you reflect on your time at Stanford, what accomplishment or experience are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of the community I have made and the amazing people I've met.

Why did you choose to study Iran? How has your minor changed your understanding of the world or influenced your plans?

I chose to study Iran not only because of my heritage but because it is such an impactful country in so many different ways. My minor has helped me better understand the dynamics that have shaped and continue to shape our world and what that may mean for the future. I'm excited to carry everything I've learned in the program and generally at Stanford as I enter this new chapter in my life.

What advice would give to a Stanford student considering the Iranian studies minor?

The Iranian Studies Program is very supportive of its students, so don't be afraid to ask for help!
