New archives added to Iran collection at Stanford University

Homa Sarshar

The Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program in Iranian Studies, in collaboration with Dr. C. Ryan Perkins (South Asian and Islamic Studies Librarian) and the Green Library, is happy to announce the arrival of a new and important archive at Stanford. Ms. Homa Sarshar, one of the most prominent Iranian journalists of our time, has kindly donated her archives to Stanford University. Her radio program, with almost forty years of continuous broadcasting, chronicles virtually every aspect of life in the Iranian diaspora, and includes interviews with some of the most prominent artists and public intellectuals on Iran. We are grateful for her generosity and support. At a later date, we will announce when the archive will be open for scholars.

Earlier this year, we received a collection of the books and private papers of the Iranian astronomer and political figure Seyyed Jalal Tehrani. More information on the availability of this collection will be announced at a later date.
