New Internship Opportunity: Brookings Institution

The Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program is pleased to partner with the Stanford Global Studies Internship Program to provide a new internship opportunity for Stanford students. This is a great research opportunity in the heart of Washington D.C. Priority will be given to Global Studies Minor students specializing in Iran.

Internship description: 

The student will benefit from working with some of the best Middle East scholars in the country. They will engage with issues and research in real time and be able to directly contribute to the scholar’s research. The student will have the chance to attend internal staff meetings, as well as public and private events with other local Middle East experts to hear a variety of viewpoints and opinions about current events. Additionally, they will engage directly with scholars and their scholar mentor and hear feedback about their work in ways not always available in a university/larger seminar classes. This experience will better position them to return to their home university and conduct their own research.
The intern will work with Center for Middle East scholars and RAs to assist with their book projects, opeds, blogs, articles, events, and general program activity. Some of work scholars are doing includes, but is not limited to, Iran, Israeli domestic politics, and religious soft power.

Internship Dates: Full time, 10 weeks during the summer of 2019. 
Desired intern qualifications: Fluency in Farsi (reading, writing, speaking) is desirable. Familiarity with another regional language (Arabic, Hebrew) would be welcome.

Funding: $6,000 stipend
Open To: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Co-term, Master's
