Arya Shadan
Arya Shadan is a second-year undergraduate student majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Data Science. He is also minoring in Iranian Studies as well as Ethics and Technology.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Arya transferred to Stanford University from Cañada College, a community college in Redwood City, CA. At Cañada, he developed a passion for Iranian studies through his research involving a comparative literary analysis and advocacy through diasporic Iranian voices, titled “The Protest of Literature: The Voices of the Iranian Revolution as Representative of a Comparative Literary Analysis.” In fact, Arya discovered the Hamid and Christina Moghadam Program in Iranian Studies after presenting his research at a community college consortium hosted at Stanford University, which inspired him to apply to Stanford University. As he integrates into the Stanford community, Arya looks forward to immersing into the Iranian Studies Program and the platform it has fostered for the study of Iran.
