Danya Kafai (2018)

Danya (class of 2018) is majoring in Symbolic Systems and minoring in Iranian Studies. His father's side of the family still lives in Iran and he has had the opportunity to visit them several times, engaging in a "unique culture that has been shaken by politics and is misunderstood by most Americans."

"The minor allows me to delve not only in the rich history of the country, but also understand the factors that have shaped the current government and society. After college, I look forward to pursuing a career in the Bay Area's ever growing tech industry while also further researching current Iranian-US relations in hopes to better understand and shed light on the complicated relationship between these two major powers."
