Graduation Year
Leily Rossi

Leily is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in International Relations with specializations in International Security and Social Development/Human Well-Being. She is also double-minoring in Iranian Studies and Data Science.

Leily comes from a mixed-ethnic background ––her mother was born in Shiraz and grew up there until the 1979 Revolution. Growing up in Los Angeles, Leily has always felt connected to her Persian culture and heritage, and has been thrilled to engage with the Iranian Studies department on campus.

At Stanford, Leily has been involved with Iranian Studies through her Persian coursework – notably her Farsi classes with Professor Emami– as well as through translation work in the Persian Special Collections in Green Library.

This past summer, Leily was a research assistant for the King Center on Global Development, where she worked on a global education reform database. Previously, she was a Stanford in Government Fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs in Doha, Qatar, where she worked on national and foreign policy.
