Shahriar Mandanipour

Shahriar Mandanipour is regarded as one of the most successful contemporary writers in Iran. He has won numerous awards for his novels, short stories, and nonfiction, although he was unable to publish there from 1992 until 1997 as a result of censorship. He is currently a visiting writer at Harvard University and teaching at Brown University. His first novel to appear in English, Censoring an Iranian Love Story, was published by Knopf in 2009 and has been released in paperback by Vintage.
