Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Bahram Beyzaie

Bahram Beyzaie, one of Iran’s most acclaimed filmmakers, playwrights, and scholars of the history of Iranian theater, joined the Iranian Studies Program at Stanford in 2010. Until his passing in 2025, Professor Beyzaie taught thousands of Stanford students through courses on Iranian cinema, Iranian theater, and Iranian cinema in diaspora; wrote and directed six feature plays; and gave numerous lectures and workshops. We were honored that Stanford was his home for more than two dozen years and we continue to celebrate his legacy.
